The 68th Venice Film Festival opened with George Clooney on the red carpet. The actor introduced the ''The Ides Of March'', film in which he starred, he wrote the screenplay and he directed with his co-star, Ryan Gosling, Marisa Tomei, Evan Rachel Wood, Paul Giamatti, and Phillip Seymour Hoffman. The most beautiful woman in the opening show was Cindy Crawford who presented with her husband at the premiere. Shortly before the opening show Clooney with the cast of the film,gave a press conference about the film (a political thriller).
