Actress Jennifer Aniston, best known for her portrayal of Rachel Green in "Friends," became the first member of the hit NBC sitcom to be immortalized on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at a ceremony held Wednesday.
Aniston received the 2,462nd star on the famous stretch of street, two days before the release of her latest comedy " Wanderlust" in which she starred with Paul Rudd and Theroux.
A teenager who developed interest in acting, Aniston graduated from New York's famed School of the Performing Arts in 1987. After played in some off-Broadway acts, the actress made her small screen debut in 1990 with the short-lived Fox series "Molly." She became a cast member in 1994 in "Friend," which turned out to be one of the most popular comedies in television history in the United States.
For her role of Rachel, Aniston won five Emmy nominations and an Emmy as outstanding leading actress in a comedy in 2002, as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award in 1996 and a Golden Globe in 2003.
