An extended behind-the-scenes look at Les Misérables .
Following the recent announcement that Tom Hooper's (The King's Speech) adaptation of the stage play Les Misérables has been moved to a Christmas Day release in North America, Universal has released an extended behind-the-scenes video giving us an insight into the upcoming musical, which you can check out below .
Les Miserables sees Hugh Jackman (The Wolverine) leading the cast as Jean Valjean alongside Russell Crowe's (Man of Steel) Police Inspector Javert, while the film also stars Anne Hathaway (The Dark Knight Rises), Sacha Baron Cohen (The Dictator), Helena Bonham Carter (Dark Shadows), Eddie Redmayne (My Week with Marilyn), Amanda Seyfried (In Time) and Aaron Tveit (Gossip Girl).
Helen Mirren returns to reign as Queen Elizabeth II in new play.
It was a defining role that won Helen Mirren an Oscar in 2007 and now the 65-year old actor is returning to the handbag and hairstyle of Queen Elizabeth in a new play exploring six decades of the monarch's weekly meetings with British prime ministers.
The Audience, written, like The Queen, by Peter Morgan, will be directed by Stephen Daldry and sets out to explore her confidential meetings with PMs from Winston Churchill to David Cameron. Her portrayal in The Queen of a meeting with Tony Blair, played by Martin Sheen, shortly after the death of Princess Diana was one of the most memorable scenes and this latest play is set to build on that but requires Mirren to portay a Queen from her twenties to her eighties.
"Her voice has changed, and I can use that –she had a terribly posh voice when she was young," Mirren said. "But now even the Queen, while she isn't quite dropping the ends of her lines –though her grandsons do! – there's a tiny bit of estuary creeping in there. I can use all that to signify the age range, and we'll come up with other things."
The drama aims to "chart the arc of the second Elizabethan Age", say the promoters and will be staged at the Geilgud Theatre in March.
Mirren has said she was reluctant to get involved fearing she was becoming known as the actor who always plays the Queen.The full cast is to yet to be announced.
Appearing on the US comedy show, Saturday Night Live she once said: "I'd like to say something for the record, although I played the Queen I am nothing like her. I may have been appointed Dame of the British Empire, but I am not all scones and teacups, I'm more biscuits and D-cups."
Morgan's last play, Frost/Nixon, also focused on a series of verbal enounters between the broadcaster David Frost and US president Richard Nixon after he had been impeached following the Watergate scandal. It was adapted into an Academy Award-nominated film.
Daldry, who spent the summer overseeing the opening and closing ceremonies for the Olympics and Paralympics, said the script was "funny and moving".
"Peter being Peter, he has done an extraordinary amount of research and spoken to people who have tried to ascertain what was likely said in these conversations," he said. "It's fascinating and unique subject matter."
Anthony Hopkins is transformed into Alfred Hitchcock .
As you can see from this new film poster, Anthony Hopkins underwent quite the transformation for his starring role in Hitchcock, a “biographical comedy-drama” about legendary British film director Alfred Hitchcock.
The film, which originally bore the title Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho, was originally slated for release in 2013 but will now make its debut in UK cinemas on Friday 23 November.
As well as Hopkins, the film features appearances from Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Biel, Dame Helen Mirren and Ralph Macchio.
Directed by Sacha Gervasi and ostensibly a mock behind-the-scenes look at the making of Hitchcock’s 1960 horror classic Psycho, the film will focus on Hitchcock’s relationship with his wife Alma Reville (Mirren) and explore the director’s battles with Hollywood censors.
Hitchcock's release will be preceded by an HBO TV biopic about the director entitled The Girl, which stars Toby Jones. Instead of Psycho, however, the HBO film will examine the making of Hitchcock’s 1963 picture The Birds.

Daniel Craig confirmed for two more James Bond movies.
James Bond fans can breathe easy. Daniel Craig is keeping his license to kill for at least two more movies.
Craig, who has played Bond since 2006's well-regarded franchise reboot "Casino Royale,"was initially under contract for only three films. That carried him through 2008's disappointing "Casino" follow-up "Quantum of Solace" and the upcoming "Skyfall" -- which will be released in November after an unusually long break in the series due to MGM's financial troubles.
Now Craig is committed to two more, as reported by fan site MI6 and confirmed by Deadline. Sony Pictures will also continue their relationship with the secret agent, co-financing with MGM and distributing the films.

- Πρόσφατα συμμετείχατε στην κινηματογραφική ταινία ''Λάρισα Εμπιστευτικό'' . Ποια εμπειρία αποκομίσατε από αυτή την ταινία ;
- Πόσο σημαντικός υπήρξε για την πορεία σας ο ρόλος του ''Μιχαλάκη'' που υποδυθήκατε στην κωμική σειρά ''Εγκλήματα'' ;
- Τι σας ελκύει περισσότερο : το θέατρο ή ο κινηματογράφος ;
Οι δυσκολίες είναι προφανείς σε μια χώρα που βρίσκεται σε κρίση και ισχύει για όλα τα επαγγέλματα. Επί του προκειμένου, σήριαλ δε γίνονται, οι θίασοι γίνονται μικρότεροι, οι παραστάσεις λιγοστεύουν κι αυτές που πηγαίνει ο κόσμος, είναι ακόμα λιγότερες,οπότε που θα απορροφηθούν όλα εκείνα τα νέα παιδιά, που είχαν πάρει φόρα προ κρίσης νομίζοντας (όχι όλα βέβαια) ότι η ηθοποιία και πιο συγκεκριμένα στο μυαλό τους, η τηλεόραση, είναι ο εύκολος και γρήγορος τρόπος να γίνουν γνωστοί και να βγάλουν λεφτά ;;;
- Ποια η γνώμη σας για την ελληνική τηλεόραση στις μέρες μας ;
Την ποια ;;;;;;

Green Mile actor Michael Clarke Duncan dead at 54 .
Michael Clarke Duncan, the hulking, prolific character actor whose dozens of films included an Oscar-nominated performance as a death row inmate in "The Green Mile" and such other box office hits as "Armageddon," ''Planet of the Apes" and "Kung Fu Panda," is dead at age 54.
Duncan died Monday morning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he was being treated for a heart attack, said his fiancée, reality TV personality Rev.
The muscular, 6-foot-4 (1.96 meter) Duncan, a former bodyguard who turned to acting in his 30s, "suffered a myocardial infarction on July 13 and never fully recovered," the statement said.
In the spring of 2012, Duncan had appeared in a video for PETA, the animal rights organization, in which he spoke of how much better he felt since becoming a vegetarian three years earlier.
"I cleared out my refrigerator, about $5,000 worth of meat," he said. "I'm a lot healthier than I was when I was eating meat."
Duncan had a handful of minor roles before "The Green Mile" brought him an Academy Award nomination for best supporting actor. The 1999 film, based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, starred Tom Hanks as a corrections officer at a penitentiary in the 1930s. Duncan played John Coffey, a convicted murderer with a surprisingly gentle demeanor and extraordinary healing powers.
Duncan's performance caught on with critics and moviegoers and he quickly became a favorite in Hollywood, appearing in several films a year. He owed some of his good fortune to Bruce Willis, who recommended Duncan for "The Green Mile" after the two appeared together in "Armageddon." Duncan would work with Willis again in "Breakfast of Champions," ''The Whole Nine Yards" and "Sin City."
Born in Chicago in 1957, Duncan was raised by a single mother whose resistance to his playing football led to his deciding he wanted to become an actor. But when his mother became ill, he dropped out of college, Alcorn State University, and worked as a ditch digger and bouncer to support her. By his mid-20s, he was in Los Angeles, where he looked for acting parts and became a bodyguard for Will Smith, Jamie Foxx and other stars. The murder of rapper Notorious B.I.G., for whom Duncan had been hired to protect before switching assignments, led him to quit his job and pursue acting full-time.
Early film and television credits, when he was usually cast as a bodyguard or bouncer, included "Bulworth," ''A Night at the Roxbury" and "The Players Club."

Michael Douglas to Play Ronald Regan.
Despite the fact that Michael Douglas is a staunch Democrat, he will be jumping ship to the GOP, to play Ronald Regan in Reykjavik. The film dramatizes the Reykjavik Summit, which was a meeting betwixt Regan and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev in the Icelandic capital city from October 11th to 12th 1986.
Ridley Scott is producing the film, and Mike Newell (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time) is in negotiations to direct. Apparently the creative team is now on a quest to cast for Gorbachev.
Michael Douglas is presently filming the HBO Liberace biopic, Behind the Candelabra, with Matt Damon and directed by Steven Soderbergh. Douglas plays famed pianist.
